Neil’s Improvisation Workshops at LARAC

LARAC, Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council, is an arts service organization located in Glens Falls, NY. Neil’s workshops at LARAC are held in the art gallery nearly every other month. Attendees include seasoned musicians as well as those who are “new” to music. Each session brings a different assortment of musical instruments and players, from saxophones, clarinets, cellos, digeriddo’s, dijembe drums, guitars, and vocalists, to name a few.

LARAC’s Community Outreach Coordinator, Candice Frye, mentions that since Neil began his improvisational “playshops”, they have been “one of LARAC’s most successful new programs.” She adds, “Neil’s ability to connect with each participant, no matter his or her ability level, allows for everyone to feel at ease and able to open their minds to the methods of the program. Many of the participants are excited to come back to the next program and bring their friends to share in the experience. We feel fortunate to have met Neil and his family and we look forward to continuing to work with him.”
